My love of shelling blossomed while growing up on the beaches of Miami. As a kid, I’d ride my bike to Matheson Hammock and walk the flats looking for sea stars and seashells. When I got my driver’s license, my adventures expanded to Key Biscayne, the Florida Keys, Boca Raton, Palm Beach, Sanibel and Captiva. Any beach, any weather, I wanted to see what I could find, on the shore or in the water. Fast forward a bazillion years and I’m still addicted to the hunt! As the Visit Florida family insider, I was blessed to explore most every inch of the Sunshine State, and as a travel writer, I’ve been to 24 countries (and counting!), always looking for a shoreline to wander. In 2017, I became a Shelling Ambassador for the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum.
